Can Seasonal Allergies Cause Gas?

Can seasonal allergies cause gas is a question that many have but in my experience and I can honestly answer, yes...yes it does!

Gas is one of the many symptoms that I experience.  In fact, about a few weeks before everything starts to pollinate is when I start to experience gas.  That's how sensitive my body is.

Why Does Seasonal Allergies Cause Gas?

When the body comes in contact with an allergen, the body does all that it can do to fight off that allergen and one of the symptoms is gas, well at least for me.

Other symptoms which I've experience can include but not limited to:

  • stomach pain
  • hay fever
  • headache
  • sneezing
  • watery, itchy eyes
  • rash, etc.

Can Seasonal Allergies Cause Gas Throughout the Year?

Can seasonal allergies cause gas throughout the year may be another question that many may ponder and the answer is yes.  People can experience seasonal allergies all the way until the fall months due to the pollen of

  • ragweed
  • mugwort
  • grass, etc.

Some can even experience allergies from mold.  With all the leaves falling and then all the rain could lead to mold spores being distributed in the air.

Also, if you're in an older home, you need to be careful that mold isn't accumulating anywhere which could be making your family sick.  This happened to us in a home we rented some years back.

It was probably the worse for me since I have more allergies.  It was was worse around the fall/winter months especially.  The house never had time to air out and breathe and was lacking the ability to get enough sun which probably contributed to it.

Can Seasonal Allergies Cause Gas Within My Pet?

Gas can definitely occur within your furry friend.  They react to allergens just as we do.  Some even have to take antihistamines just as we do to
